SSNIT Unveils Virtual Branch for Pension Services

The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has officially launched a Virtual Branch to enhance convenience, accessibility and efficiency in pension service delivery for members across the country.
The initiative was launched on Tuesday, December 17, 2025, at the forecourt of the Virtual Branch car park, with the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, serving as Special Guest of Honour. The speech was delivered on his behalf by the Deputy Minister.

Speaking at the event, the Minister said the Virtual Branch aligns with Government’s broader digital transformation agenda and President John Dramani Mahama’s 24-Hour Economy and National Reset Agenda, which seek to leverage technology and innovation to expand productivity and access to essential public services.
He noted that the platform allows workers to access SSNIT services anytime and anywhere, without the need to visit a physical office, describing it as a practical step towards dignity, efficiency and inclusiveness in public service delivery.
According to him, Government continues to strengthen Ghana’s digital infrastructure through expanded broadband coverage, improved cybersecurity, enhanced digital identity systems and greater interoperability among public platforms, creating the enabling environment for institutions like SSNIT to innovate.
The Minister highlighted the rapid transformation of the world of work, pointing to the growing number of gig workers, freelancers, artisans, small business owners and digital creators who increasingly form a significant part of the national workforce. He said the Virtual Branch positions SSNIT to meet contributors where they are—on digital platforms and mobile devices.
He commended SSNIT for adapting to these changes and developing solutions that improve transparency, convenience and engagement for a new generation of contributors.
The Virtual Branch enables members to initiate and track service requests, access information and engage with SSNIT officers in real time, while maintaining high standards of data protection and security.
SSNIT said the initiative complements its existing physical branch network and other digital service channels, ensuring nationwide coverage, including for members in underserved and remote communities.

The launch underscores SSNIT’s commitment to modernising pension administration, deepening member engagement and safeguarding the retirement future of workers in Ghana’s evolving economy.
