Afreh Biney Reaffirms SSNIT’s Commitment to Service

The Director-General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Mr. Kwesi Afreh Biney, has reaffirmed the Trust’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the media to enhance public education on social protection in Ghana.

Speaking during an engagement with journalists as part of activities marking Social Security @ 60 under the theme “A Legacy of Service,” Mr. Biney emphasized the vital role of the media in promoting accurate, balanced, and impactful reportage on social security issues.

He explained that the engagement was designed to deepen partnerships with the media, share updates on SSNIT’s ongoing transformation initiatives, and create an open platform for dialogue, feedback, and collaboration aimed at improving public understanding and participation in the SSNIT Scheme.

Mr. Biney lauded the media for their continuous support and constructive feedback, which he said would guide SSNIT in improving its services. “You’ve given us feedback that we will use to improve our skill. We will not take it for granted,” he noted.

Highlighting SSNIT’s digital transformation journey, the Director-General urged contributors and pensioners to take advantage of the Trust’s modernized digital channels to access services conveniently. “We have evolved over a period, and our digital blueprint has enabled us to scale up. Let the Ghanaian people know that those digital channels are for them—they should use them,” he said.

Mr. Biney assured the public of SSNIT’s continued financial stability and commitment to delivering on its mandate. “The Trust is strong, and we will continue to provide income security for the people we serve. We have never failed, and we assure you we will not fail,” he declared.

He added that SSNIT will continue investing prudently to secure sustainable returns that enhance the scheme’s assets and long-term viability.

Mr. Biney concluded by calling for continued collaboration with the media to educate the public and strengthen confidence in SSNIT. “Help us educate our people and grow our trust together. God bless each and every one of you, and God bless our home country,” he said.
