Government Pays Outstanding Funds to Special Schools
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that the Government of Ghana has released GH₵8,989,866.00 to settle all outstanding arrears owed to Special Schools across the country.
In a press statement signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of the Public Relations Unit, GES affirmed that the payment covers all delayed funds and is a significant step in demonstrating the government’s commitment to inclusive education and the welfare of learners with special needs.
“This disbursement demonstrates the Government’s continued commitment to inclusive education and the wellbeing of learners with special needs,” the statement read.
The GES expressed appreciation to the heads, staff, and students of Special Schools for their patience, resilience, and dedication during the period of financial delays. Management also commended the government for prioritizing the needs of Special Needs Education.
GES reiterated its commitment to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure equitable and quality education for all Ghanaian children, regardless of ability or disability.
