Top Ghanaian Journalists Nominated for 28th GJA Media Awards


The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has announced the nominees for its 28th Media Awards, scheduled to take place at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Saturday, September 28, 2024.


The nominees were revealed during a news conference in Accra by the nine-member GJA Media Awards Committee, chaired by George-Ramsey Benamba. In total, 33 journalists and media houses have been shortlisted for the prestigious awards, which celebrate excellence in journalism across various categories.


Notable nominees include Castro Senyalah from Media General, Evans Aziamor-Mensah from The Fourth Estate, and Benedicta Gyimah Folley of the Ghanaian Times. Other prominent names on the list are Edmund Smith-Asante of the Daily Graphic, Doreen Ampofo of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, and Edward Adeti from Media Without Borders.


Media houses like Joy FM, Daily Graphic, and Multimedia Group Ltd are also in the running for key awards.


GJA President, Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, commended the Awards Committee for its diligent work in selecting the nominees, expressing his gratitude for the commitment to recognizing and promoting excellence in Ghanaian journalism.


The ceremony on September 28 is expected to be a highlight of the year for media professionals across the country.
