New Goldbod Jewellery Website Revolutionizes Online Gold Shopping

Goldbod Jewellery Ltd has taken a bold step toward transforming Ghana’s gold industry with the official launch of its new e-commerce platform, jewelry.goldboard.gov.gh, a digital showroom designed to make Ghanaian-made gold accessible to buyers locally and abroad.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra, Managing Director Gertrude Emefa Donkor said the platform marks a turning point in Ghana’s long-standing challenge of exporting raw gold while importing finished jewellery from other countries. According to her, the new website is a strategic push toward value addition, job creation, and global market competitiveness.
She noted that although Ghana is Africa’s leading gold producer, the country has not fully benefited from the economic advantages of processing and branding its own gold. “Today we are changing that narrative forever,” she said, emphasizing that Goldbod Jewellery’s rebranding, restructuring, and retooling efforts are all geared toward positioning Ghana as a world-class jewellery hub.
Donkor highlighted that all Goldbod pieces, from rings and necklaces to bracelets are 100% crafted by Ghanaian artisans, showcasing authentic local creativity and skill.
The MD revealed that, one of the company’s flagship innovations, the Gold Board Jewellery Tablet, is available in 1g, 5g, 10g, and 31g (one ounce).
She described it as a convenient investment product that offers Ghanaians a simple way to store value and benefit from rising gold prices.
The newly launched website, she explained, is more than an online shop. It is Ghana’s first 24-hour digital gold showroom, offering real-time pricing, secure mobile money and card payments, and nationwide pickup at Goldbod showrooms. Through the platform, customers worldwide can browse collections, shop anytime, and own Ghanaian gold in just a few clicks.
Donkor stressed that the initiative directly supports Ghana’s National Value Addition Agenda, keeping foreign exchange within the country and helping create jobs for young people. “The gold is bought from Ghanaian miners, crafted by Ghanaian hands, and the revenue stays here,” she said.
Looking ahead, Goldbod Jewellery Ltd plans to expand with flagship stores across Ghana and international displays in major cities including Lagos, London, New York, and Dubai. The long-term goal is to establish Ghana as Africa’s number one gold jewellery and investment gold brand.
She concluded by urging the media to help amplify the story of Ghana’s rise in the global jewellery market. “We are not just selling gold; we are building a legacy.”
