GoldBod Demands Retraction of Asaase Radio Claim

The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has firmly dismissed claims circulating in a recent Asaase Radio publication alleging that the institution has incurred losses exceeding GHC 3 billion in its first year of operation.

In a press statement issued on Sunday, November 17, 2025, the statutory body described the report as “entirely false” and “deliberately contrived” to distort the agency’s track record and undermine its growing contribution to Ghana’s economic recovery.
According to the Ghana Gold Board, its financial performance since inception has been solid, with the institution consistently posting surpluses—not losses as reported. The Board indicated that quarterly financial statements, soon to be published on its official website, will provide clear evidence of its profitability and operational success.
GoldBod urged the public to disregard what it termed a misleading and unethical publication and called on Asaase Radio’s management to retract the story and issue an unqualified apology to Ghanaians.
The statement, signed by the Media Relations Unit of the Ghana Gold Board, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to transparency, accuracy, and accountability in all its operations.
