Ghana Showcases Climate Leadership at COP30 in Brazil
Ghana has reaffirmed its dedication to global climate action as the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources and Acting Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah (MP), arrives in Brazil to lead the country’s delegation to the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30).
The conference, taking place in Belém, northern Brazil, brings together world leaders, climate negotiators, civil society organizations, and environmental advocates to deliberate on decisive measures toward climate action, nature conservation, and sustainable development.
Hon. Buah, representing President John Dramani Mahama, is expected to deliver Ghana’s national statement at the Summit of Heads of State on Thursday, November 6, 2025. His address will highlight Ghana’s climate priorities, outline national commitments, and emphasize the country’s expectations for strengthened global partnerships in addressing the climate crisis.
Beyond the high-level segment, Ghana’s delegation will engage in ministerial dialogues, technical negotiations, and bilateral meetings aimed at promoting green development, renewable energy adoption, and sustainable land management. The conference runs from November 6 to November 21, 2025.
Government officials say Ghana’s participation in COP30 reflects its unwavering resolve to safeguard the environment while advancing sustainable development through knowledge exchange, inclusive dialogue, and strategic cooperation with partner nations.
