Boresah Foundation Leads Relief for Displaced Families

The Boresah Royal Founation has received generous donations from Miniplast Limited and the Ghana Italian Women Association (GIWA) to assist residents of the Sanyeri community in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region, who were affected by the recent Gbenyiri conflict.
The conflict, which erupted recently, displaced over 50,000 people and allegedly claimed 31 lives. In response, Miniplast Limited donated plastic chairs, while GIWA contributed clothing items, as part of ongoing relief efforts led by the foundation to support victims of the tragedy.
These donations aim to meet the immediate needs of affected families, restoring a sense of dignity and comfort as they rebuild their lives. The items will also help the community convene meetings and discussions to plan their recovery and foster unity.
“We are deeply grateful to Miniplast Limited and GIWA for their generosity and support,” said Queen Boresah Fantevie, Executive Director of the Boresah Royal Foundation and Nkilgiwurche (Queenmother) of the Yagbon (Gonja) Kingdom in the Savannah Region. “Their contributions will go a long way toward easing the suffering of the people of Sanyeri.”

The Boresah Royal Foundation remains committed to promoting peace and improving the wellbeing of women and children. “We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the people of Sanyeri receive the necessary support to recover from this tragic event,” Queen Boresah added.
President of GIWA, Rosaria Baldi expressed appreciation for the collaboration with the foundation. “We are dedicated to empowering women and fostering peace and development in Ghana. We thank Miniplast Limited for their support and look forward to further partnerships,” she said.
Nadim Ghanem Parés, CEO of Miniplast Limited, reaffirmed his company’s commitment to community support. “We are happy to stand with the people of Sanyeri in this difficult time. At Miniplast, giving back to society is at the heart of what we do, and we remain dedicated to making a positive impact in Ghana.”
A resident and conflict survivor, Abiba Amadu, expressed gratitude for the assistance. “This has never happened before; we’re thankful to the foundation and, like Oliver Twist, we will always ask for more. These donations will help us come together and hold community meetings in these trying times,” she said.
Bakari Abdul-Aziz, Assemblyman for the Sanyeri Electoral Area, received the items on behalf of the community and conveyed his appreciation. “We are grateful to Miniplast Limited, GIWA, and the Boresah Royal Foundation for their timely intervention. These donations will significantly support our community’s recovery efforts,” he noted.

The Boresah Royal Foundation and its partners are calling on other organizations and individuals to join in supporting the people of Sanyeri. Those interested in contributing or offering assistance can contact the foundation’s secretariat for more information.
