Gana’s Ambassador-designate to South Korea, Mr. Kojo Choi, has paid a courtesy call on the Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) and Senior Advisor to the President on the Sustainable Development Goals, Dr. Nii Moi Thompson, to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation between Ghana and South Korea. The meeting, held in Accra, focused on Ghana’s interest in drawing lessons from South Korea’s remarkable economic transformation, especially in industrialization, research and development, and infrastructure development. Dr. Thompson recalled his 2015 visit to South Korea, where he engaged with a business strategist who highlighted South Korea’s “capital saturation” and the need to channel surplus capital into investments abroad. Greater Accra Minister Blasts Non-Performance MMDCEs

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Ocloo (MP) , has issued a stern warning to Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the region, accusing many of them of inefficiency and complacency in discharging their duties. Speaking at the “Meet the Press” encounter held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the Impartility Conference Hall of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), the Minister said she was disappointed at the lack of urgency shown by several MMDCEs, stressing that excuses will no longer be tolerated. “Leadership is not about sitting in offices and enjoying perks. It is about delivering results, and right now, many of you are simply sleeping on the job,” she charged. The engagement, part of the government’s “Reset Agenda” , focused on three critical issues: streetlights, sanitation, and billboard regulation. On streetlights, Hon. Ocloo announced that the Ministry of Energy had secured 3,000 new units , with each assembly set to rec...

The findings reveal that such violence is systemic, cutting across party lines and posing a major barrier to women’s political participation. According to the study, nine out of ten women surveyed reported experiencing some form of violence within their political parties . Verbal abuse emerged as the most widespread, with many respondents citing WhatsApp platforms as the main space where such harassment takes place . The report also found that half of the women surveyed indicated their parties lacked internal mechanisms to address violence , leaving victims with little to no recourse. In many cases, women retreat or reduce their engagement to protect themselves, a trend that further limits female representation in politics and entrenches gender inequality. “These findings highlight not only the ...

In recent years, Ghanaians have developed a growing trend of rallying behind their favourite politicians and celebrities whenever they are invited by state investigative bodies. This solidarity often takes the form of large crowds besieging the premises of institutions such as the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB). While intended as expressions of loyalty, these actions pose a serious national security concern. Months ago, the premises of EOCO became the centre of political drama when a large group of Members of Parliament accompanied Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, during his invitation for questioning. The charged atmosphere not only disrupted the environment but also raised questions about interference in investigations. A similar scene unfolded last Thursday when scores of youth gathered at EOCO headquarters following the invitation of dancehall artiste Shatta Wale....
