Ghana Unveils 24-Hour Economy Transformation Programme
On Monday, June 9, 2025, the office of the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme (24H+) released a major public statement reaffirming its commitment to reshaping Ghana’s economic future through productivity, innovation, and national mobilisation.
Described as Ghana’s flagship economic transformation agenda, the 24H+ programme is designed to build a self-reliant, industrial, and export-driven economy. It focuses on key pillars such as agro-processing, digital innovation, infrastructure, logistics, workforce development, and export competitiveness, with a goal of reducing import dependence and fostering inclusive growth and decent job creation.
Initiated by President John Dramani Mahama, the 24H+ is both a destination—a Ghana where economic activity operates around the clock—and a programme—a comprehensive, actionable blueprint for restructuring the economy from the ground up.
At its core, 24H+ is a citizens’ and partners’ mobilisation effort, based on the belief that transformation must be driven by the collective effort of the people, with both public and private sectors playing key roles.
To deepen engagement and transparency, the programme office has released two public-facing documents outlining the full strategy and is calling on citizens, investors, development partners, and friends of Ghana to read, reflect, and contribute their views.
Submissions can be made through official social media handles:

“The 24H+ belongs to all of us,” the statement reads. “Your voice matters. Let’s build together.”
