GIS Recruits Pass Out, Vow Vigilance

Deputy Commissioner of Immigration (DCOI) Francis Palmdeti has called on newly passed-out Officers of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) to exhibit unwavering commitment to safeguarding the country’s borders and national security.
Speaking at the second passing-out parade of Recruit Intake 30 at the Immigration Mid-Country Training School in Tepa, DCOI Palmdeti, who is also the Head of Training at GIS, charged the fresh officers to uphold the core values of integrity, professionalism, and vigilance.
"You have undergone rigorous training for a reason—Ghana’s borders are the frontline of our national security. Remain disciplined, stay alert, and remember your duty to the nation," he urged.
The Deputy Commissioner commended the recruits for their resilience and discipline throughout the challenging training programme, which he noted was designed to prepare them to tackle increasingly complex security threats, including transnational crimes and irregular migration.
DCOI Palmdeti also praised the Commandant and instructors of the training school for their dedication to grooming the recruits into capable officers ready to contribute meaningfully to the Service’s mission.
The event, which featured an impressive parade and awards ceremony, saw Recruit Officer Mark Selorm Awuku awarded as the Overall Best Recruit. Traditional leaders, including the Tepamanhene Nana Adusei Atwenewaa Apem, his Queenmother, sub-chiefs, as well as local government officials and representatives from other security agencies, graced the occasion.
The passing-out ceremony reaffirmed GIS’s commitment to enhancing its operational capacity through rigorous training and strategic deployment, essential for effective border control and migration management in Ghana.
