NEW JUABEN NORTH MCE SECURES 100% APPROVAL

Samuel Adongo the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) nominee for New Juaben North Municipal Assembly has received an overwhelming endorsement from the honourable Assembly Members, securing an emphatic 100% approval to be the New MCE at Effiduase, the District Capital on Thursday.


Prior to the confirmation of Samuel Adongo, there was an election earlier in the day to elect a Presiding Member (PM), between Daniel Kankam Twumasi and Jacob Kwame Antwi. 


After the first round of voting non of the two candidates could secure the mandatory 2/3 vote of 22 to be elected,which pushed the to elections into a second round with Jacob Kwame Antwi eventually being elected as the new Presiding Member with 22 votes.


The Eastern Regional Minister, Mrs Rita Akosua Awartey addressing the Assembly members before the election,supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC), appealed to them to endorse the President’s nominee with one-torch 100% unanimous approval to enable the NDC Government Reset Agenda to be realized in the municipality.


She reminded the Assembly Members that so far 29 out of the 33 Assemblies in the region that she has visited to conduct the President,s MCE/DCEs nominees confirmation exercise, almost of them have been a 100% endorsement.


Hence, that of the New Juaben North Assembly should not an exception.


The 29 Assembly members who were present unanimously voted Yes for the approval of Samuel Adongo as the new MCE for the New Juaben North Municipal Assembly.


Samuel Adongo in his acceptance speech, thanked President John Dramani Mahama for the confidence reposed in him for the nomination,the Assembly members for their overwhelming endorsement and above all to the Almighty God for His favour and pledged to do his utmost best to develop the Effiduase township and its immediate environs within his jurisdiction.


He was sworn into office by her Worship Nana Ama D.Fynn Nkansah, a District Court Judge of Koforidua District Court A.



The Member of Parliament for the New Juaben North Constituency, Nana Osei Agyei who grace the occasion with his presence,urged the MCE, Samuel Adongo to put the interest of the Assembly first in all his dealings and pledged to support him in whatever capacity he can for the benefit of the constituency irrespective of the fact that they are from two different political parties.
