Eco CEO Awarded Doctorate in Business Management
Eco Group of Companies is proud to announce a momentous occasion in the life of its esteemed President and CEO, Mr. George Oti-Bonsu, who has been conferred with two distinguished honours in recognition of his leadership and business excellence.
At a prestigious awards ceremony held in South Africa, Mr. Oti-Bonsu received an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Business Management from Maryland State University, acknowledging his outstanding contributions to business leadership and innovation in Ghana and beyond. In addition, he was also honoured with the Global Excellence Business Award in Furniture, a testament to his significant impact in the furniture manufacturing sector.
Mr. George Oti-Bonsu is the founder and CEO of Eco Furniture Works Limited, formerly known as Bonsu Furniture Works. Since its establishment in 2014, the company has grown from a small woodwork-focused business into a major player in the Ghanaian and West African furniture industry, offering unique and classic designs for homes, offices, and institutions.
Under his leadership, the company rebranded and expanded its scope, becoming the sole distributor of Tuna Doors from Turkey and Alibert from Nigeria, with production facilities in Spintex and Anloga Junction, Kumasi, and showrooms located in Adjiringanor and Asylum Down.
What began with just 10 staff members now employs over 50 workers—proof of Mr. Oti-Bonsu’s commitment to job creation and industrial excellence. His drive to offer high-quality, affordable, and durable furniture has positioned Eco Furniture Works as a one-stop-shop for building and furnishing needs, including quality tiles and building blocks.
This double recognition marks a new chapter in the legacy of Mr. Oti-Bonsu, a visionary leader reshaping the furniture industry and inspiring a generation of entrepreneurs.
