West Africa Pharma Exhibition Returns to Accra
The 4th edition of the West Africa Pharma Healthcare Exhibition, the premier international pharmaceutical, medical, and healthcare industry event in Ghana, is scheduled for May 6 to 8, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), Accra.
Organized by Astrovision Global FZCO Dubai and ACE Group, the exhibition is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Health, with the support of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and key stakeholder organizations, including the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Ghana National Chamber of Pharmacy (GNCP), Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH), and others. The Business & Financial Times (B&FT) is the official Conference Partner.
This year's event, themed "E-Pharmacy & Digital Health", will focus on leveraging technology to enhance healthcare delivery. The expo will feature 100 exhibitors from countries such as India, Turkey, the USA, Egypt, Italy, and Ghana. It is expected to attract over 5,000 visitors from Ghana and across West Africa, including manufacturers, exporters, wholesalers, healthcare professionals, and decision-makers.
During a press conference ahead of the event, Mr. Praveen Singh, Project Director of the exhibition, emphasized that the event will serve as a platform for innovation and collaboration, offering Ghanaian and West African companies the chance to connect with global suppliers and explore manufacturing partnerships. He noted that the exhibition aligns with the Government of Ghana’s mission to strengthen healthcare systems and infrastructure.
Other speakers at the press conference included Rev. Ezekiel Amadu Daribi, President of the Association of Health Service Administrators Ghana; Mr. Evans Akwasi Appiah, Public Relations Officer of the Association; and Mr. Pharm. Harrison Abutiate, Chairman of the National Executive Council.
Ms. Audrey Serwaa Bonsu, CEO of the Ghana National Chamber of Pharmacy, highlighted that the exhibition would foster collaboration, enhance supply chain efficiencies, and offer opportunities for capacity building and mentorship within the industry.
Additionally, Mr. Joe FiFi Yamoah, Executive Secretary of the Pharmaceutical Importers & Wholesalers Association of Ghana (PIWA), and Mr. Anthony K. Ameka, CEO of the Federation of Africa Medical Equipment Disposables Devices Manufacturers and Suppliers (FOAMEDDMS), expressed optimism about the expo’s potential to create meaningful partnerships and support the local pharmaceutical manufacturing agenda.
With a focus on digital transformation in healthcare, the exhibition promises to deliver key insights and opportunities for the sector, contributing to the development of self-sufficiency in pharmaceutical manufacturing within Ghana.
