Mahama to Launch Feed Ghana on April 12
The much-anticipated launch of the government’s flagship agricultural initiative, the Feed Ghana Programme, has been rescheduled from Friday, April 11 to Saturday, April 12, 2025, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture has announced.
The event will now take place at the Methodist School Park in Techiman, Bono East Region.
According to Hon. Enc Opou, Minister for Food and Agriculture, the rescheduling is due to other pressing state obligations that require the presence of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana.
Despite the date change, the government reaffirmed its commitment to achieving food security and boosting agricultural productivity through this transformative initiative.
In a significant boost to the programme, the University of Ghana has officially joined the Feed Ghana initiative through its institutional commercial farming framework. The partnership is aimed at harnessing academic expertise to promote sustainable agriculture and expand food production nationwide.
The Feed Ghana Programme is expected to be a game-changer in Ghana’s agricultural sector—supporting farmers, modernizing farming practices, and strengthening the country’s food systems.
The Ministry is encouraging all stakeholders, especially farmers, researchers, and the general public, to attend the event and be part of Ghana’s journey toward food sovereignty.
