MP For Ablekuma West Pledges Jobs, Better Healthcare for Ablekuma West

The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Rev. Kweku Addo, has assured constituents of his unwavering commitment to transforming the municipality through infrastructure, healthcare, job creation, and social development. Speaking at the 68th Independence Day celebration at Karikari Park in Dansoman, Rev. Addo emphasized the need to "Reflect, Review, and Reset" after years of neglect, pledging to implement projects that will improve livelihoods.

He announced that the MP’s Forum, the first initiative under his 7-point development vision, will be held on March 7 at Ebenezer Senior High School. The forum will provide an opportunity for residents to engage directly with him and local authorities, ensuring accountability and inclusive decision-making.

On healthcare, Rev. Addo reaffirmed his commitment to improving access, revealing that the Gbegbeyise Polyclinic is nearing completion, the Dansoman Polyclinic Annex at KitKat is being fast-tracked, and plans are underway for a new ultra-modern hospital. "Your health is my priority, and I will work tirelessly to bring quality healthcare closer to you," he assured.

Addressing infrastructure challenges, he acknowledged concerns over poor roads and pledged to accelerate key road projects while enhancing the beauty of Dansoman through street lighting, functional traffic lights, and tree planting. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to complete the Shiabu Sea Defense Project, which aims to protect coastal communities from erosion, and dredging exercises in Glefe, Opetekwei, and Otodjor to curb perennial flooding.

To address unemployment, Rev. Addo announced plans to introduce Sanitation Guards and Neighborhood Watch Guards, offering jobs to local youth. Additionally, he pledged to equip young people with employable skills and provide support for education. Recognizing the contributions of the elderly, he revealed his vision to establish an Adult Recreational Centre where senior citizens can socialize, relax, and engage in recreational activities.

Encouraging unity and patriotism, Rev. Addo urged residents to seize the opportunity to reset Ablekuma West’s trajectory. "Let us work together to build a community that is prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable," he concluded.
