Mahama Visits Bawku, Nalerigu for Peace Talks

President John Dramani Mahama is visiting Bawku and Nalerigu today, January 14, 2025, as part of efforts to address the protracted conflict in the Bawku area. The President's visit underscores his commitment to resolving the decades-old crisis and fostering lasting peace in the region.


During the visit, President Mahama will engage with the various factions involved in the conflict, as well as key stakeholders, to promote dialogue and reconciliation. His mission is expected to build trust and create a conducive atmosphere for peaceful coexistence among the people of Bawku.


The President is scheduled to return to Accra later today after completing his peace-building engagements.


This initiative reflects the government’s dedication to addressing regional tensions and ensuring stability across the country.
