Mahama Suspends Sale of Public Lands Nationwide

In a move to safeguard State and Public Lands for the collective benefit of citizens and future generations, the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, has issued a directive for the immediate cessation of all activities related to the sale, lease, or processing of such lands.

The directive mandates that all ongoing and pending transactions be halted to allow for a comprehensive review of the framework governing the management of State and Public Lands. This action underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring accountability and sustainable management of public resources.

As part of the directive, all relevant authorities are required to submit a detailed report of recent and ongoing transactions concerning State and Public Lands to the Office of the President within 14 days.

This decisive measure aims to address concerns about land mismanagement and ensure that public lands remain a resource for all Ghanaians, both now and in the future. Authorities have been urged to treat this directive with the utmost urgency.
