Ghana Freedom Party Supports NqDC with 1.5M Members

The Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), founded by the late Akua Donkor, has formally endorsed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2024 general elections. The party announced this at a press conference in Accra on December 4, 2024, citing ideological alignment and shared policy priorities.

According to the Deputy General Secretary of GFP, Mr. Jerry Offei Addo, over 1.5 million GFP members are throwing their weight behind the NDC following the disqualification of GFP’s running mate, Mr. Roman Fada. "Our policies and manifesto overlap significantly with those of the NDC, making this partnership a natural choice," he explained.

Among the shared policies highlighted by Mr. Offei Addo were free tuition for first-year tertiary students, the establishment of a women’s bank, and agricultural mechanization programs.

He further revealed that consultations with the NDC leadership had been concluded, and the GFP had already commenced campaigning for the party. "We are confident in the NDC’s victory come December 2024," he affirmed.

This strategic alliance, GFP says, aims to strengthen their common goal of addressing critical national challenges and advancing the welfare of Ghanaians.
