APD 2025: Driving Africa’s Single Market with Infrastructure

The Africa Prosperity Network (APN) set the stage for the upcoming Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD) 2025 with its annual Partners’ Cocktail event held on November 29, 2024, at the AfCFTA Secretariat in Accra. The engagement brought together key stakeholders to rally support for the highly anticipated Dialogues and the Africa Prosperity Champions Awards (APCA) 2025.

Scheduled for January 30 to February 1, 2025, in Accra, the third edition of APD will focus on “Delivering Africa’s Single Market through Infrastructure: Invest. Integrate. Connect.” Over 2,000 leaders, including heads of state, business executives, and entrepreneurs from Africa, the Caribbean, and the global diaspora, are expected to discuss solutions to Africa’s infrastructure challenges.

Prominent attendees at the cocktail included headline sponsors such as BADEA, MTN, Planet One Group, Tetracore Energy Group, and others. The event also featured a speech by Ms. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Commonwealth Secretary General-elect, who emphasized Africa’s collective responsibility in building the world's largest single market.

APN Executive Chairman Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko called for collaboration between public and private sectors to bridge Africa's infrastructure gap and unlock the continent’s economic potential. His call to action was echoed by AfCFTA Secretary General Wamkele Mene, who stressed the importance of infrastructure investment in enabling trade and reducing costs across Africa.

Ghana’s Energy Minister Herbert Krapa underscored the critical role of energy infrastructure in powering industrialization and suggested that APD 2025 prioritize sustainable energy initiatives and cross-border energy collaboration.

The APCA, set to honor African changemakers, will be supported by Telecel Ghana as the lead sponsor. Nana Adwoa Hackman, Executive Director of Events at APN, highlighted the awards’ alignment with the Africa Prosperity Agenda.

As Africa faces rapid urbanization and growing infrastructure needs, APD 2025 aims to foster partnerships and innovative solutions to transform the continent’s fragmented markets into a unified economic powerhouse.
